ADA compliance continues to be reviewed as part of our regular civil rights reviews. Complaints about noncompliance in Extension may be lodged through the county, the university, the state, or USDA. This makes "passing the buck" virtually impossible! Grievance procedures are the same as outlined in the Program Complaint Procedures located on the Internet at http://ext.wsu.edu/ce.cahe/administration/complaint.html#link to program. As with civil rights, USDA can chose to audit us at any time with little warning. Our best protection is to assure that, at all times, our programs are equally accessible to all.
One of Extension's requirements
is that training be provided to staff. Please use these resources to provide
training at a staff meeting in the near future.
If you have questions about employment, contact the Affirmative Action Coordinator for Extension at 509-335-2822. You can call the Affirmative Action Coordinator about other aspects of the law, such as program accessibility, training and complaint procedures. We encourage you to contact us when you have experiences to share or when you have suggestions that might help others.
